Deeping Rangers FC

Formed in 1964 in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, Deeping Rangers FC is a thriving grass roots football club playing in the Premier Division North (step 5) of the National League System. The club’s home is The Haydon Witham Stadium in Market Deeping and David Holmes has been the club’s groundsman for over 20 years.
David was nominated for the FA Groundsman of the Year (steps 5 and 6) accolade in 2015, coming third, and in 2018 he was runner up, so he definitely knows his stuff. He recently selected British Sugar TOPSOIL’s Sports&Turf 90:10 sand/soil topdressing to be used as part of the club’s summer maintenance programme for the main pitch and the two training grounds, where three senior teams play and train.
60 tonnes of Sports&Turf were delivered on articulated lorries. The pitches were first seeded and then top-dressed with Sports&Turf. A Quadraplay was used to distribute the dressing post spreading. David thenapplied fertilizer to encourage the seed to germinate and establish. Ease of use and friability were key requirements for this important pitch maintenance work.
